I have to laugh, because almost every time I spin, something is slightly different.  If you are an experienced spinner you’ll be able to relate to this.  Spinning is a little different than other exercises.  Sure, it’s riding a bike, but it’s also about the people next to you, your instructor, your spinning cycle, the lighting, etc  It’s easy in a spinning class to get in a zone where everything is perfect.  It’s also easy to get distracted and forget you are there for the exercise.

With no further adieu (what is adieu anyway?), here are my spinning top 5’s.

Spinning Nightmares

5.  Substitute instructor that is probably more qualified to be subbing in Jr. High math class than teaching a spinning class.

4.  Monday.  Need I say more.  January is similar.
3.  That one spinning cycle everyone dreads. For some reason, the adjustments are not the same, it makes a ticking sound, etc. Feels like your first Huffy as a kid.  Dad put it together at 1am on Christmas eve.

2.  Your instructor proudly announces a new grunge spinning class mix she wants to tryout.

..and my number one spinning class nightmare….

1. The person next to you is sweating like Shaq over a game winning free throw.  No towel. Seems to view the puddle on the floor as a trophy.

Ok, I’m exhausted and quite honestly in a bad mood.  Time to find my mojo again.  Lets talk about the top 5 spinning dreams.  That stuff that goes right and keeps you loving spinning.

Spinning Dreams

5. Every once in a while, it seems like every song comes from your “My Favs” playlist on your iPod during your spinning class.  Spinning lasts an hour but feels like 15 minutes because it was a party for you.

4. You grab your spinning cycle and aren’t sure who is going to spin next to you.  Through the door walks (insert name of your secret spin class crush here) and makes a bee line straight to the bike next to you.  Oh yeah, its your birthday, oh yeah, its your birthday!

3. Spinning class is over, you jump on the scale at home or at the gym, and you hit an all time low or a goal weight!

2. Sunday (opposite of Monday).

..and my number one spinning class dream….

1. The zone.  Its just one of those days.  Runners know what I mean.  Like a running high.  You can workout in any heart rate zone and nothing phases you.  An hour class feels like a warm up but you burned 500 calories.

Leave your spinning nightmares or dreams in the comments area.  I’m curious what makes all you spinners tick.  Or, I suppose, ticked.
